How Many Polar Bears Does it Take….

Honestly what does the Polar Bear need more than anything else ……” Ice”!!! What can Defenders of Wildlife do about that?
“Nothing”!
So why do people give to Wildlife organizations……I can only tell you why I gave to RMEF.
I gave to RMEF to keep Elk in the mountains, to keep Elk in Yellowstone , to preserve Hunting , to Save Elk , that is why I gave.
Now out of the “Internet Ether” comes an E-Mail , warning of impending litigation against all the States by Wolf Advocates sent by the RMEF …. I was less than impressed . This warning from the RMEF is an insult to anyone and everyone who ever donated anything to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation !
The E-Mail I received should have been informing everyone that the RMEF was finally going to spend some of those Millions in court defending the Elk and the Hunters who made them “Stinking Rich “!! Instead they warn us that they are not going to be doing anything Again !
Nine years ago I asked RMEF why they weren’t doing anything to fight the Introduction of the Wolf – their reply “We don’t get involved in Politics “ ???
My reply,” What are you going to call yourselves when the Elk are all gone, “The Rocky Mountain No Elk Foundation”?
With the closing of the Gardiner Elk Hunt the RMEF became the RMNEF , I am no longer a member .
Defenders of Wildlife and RMEF are Donation Whores , I have never been to a fund raiser for DOW but I have been to a fund raiser for RMEF. They try every way in the book to shake as much money out of you as possible.
So, just look at this Blog like it’s a Banquet. An awareness fund raiser to shake as much sense into you as is “Legally Possible”, to make you painfully aware of the cartoon you have become and how all the Dead Elk are dancing on Your grave. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation died the day the Gardiner Elk Hunt was cancelled (Direct Violation of the Lacey Act – Did you sue them No ). The habitat that RMEF worked so hard to preserve for Elk ,is now home to E- Granulosus( Direct Violation of the Lacey Act- Did you sue them No ) infected Non-Native Canadian Grey Wolves.( Direct Violation of The Lacey Act- Did you sue them No ). Will you ever sue on the behalf of Elk or Hunters or States NO!!
This brings us back to the Polar Bear. There is certain honesty in Dows’ playing on the emotions of people, as in the case of the
Polar Bear. Anyone who was thinking clearly would realize no one can make Ice. However in the case of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation anyone who ever gave a nickel to RMEF did so to preserve Elk and believed that they were giving to a Foundation that would fight , if for no other reason, than to just keep making money on the Banquets. Alas we are just as screwed as the fools who thought DOW could make Ice , we thought RMEF could make Elk not disappear ! Instead they run around like a cartoon Paul Revere , shouting“ The Wolves are coming , the Wolves are coming, they are going to sue, they are going to sue “ ! This would be useful information if we had gotten it sooner, but they are to cheap to buy a horse or an Attorney !
I got news for you the Wolves have already been here and your one of ‘em !

Todd you raise a very good point about the RMNEF, I kinda find it odd that an hour before reading this I got fed up with even showing support to them and removed the RMEF decal from my truck. They need to be a voice not a gimmick, just because they have protected lands from development does that mean that they can protect what doesn’t live there any longer or at all. As much as it makes me cringe at the thought, the RMEF would be better off trying to petition the Dept of Interior to put Rocky Mtn Elk on the threatened list, then sue the crap out of the gov’t when they aren’t taken seriously. Taking a page out of the wackos playbook, then use the $ to fence in some of that land to raise herds to repopulate the hills with when we can stop the cult once and for all.

Well for any RMEF member who is unsure if he should join in the”Good Fight” today, let me remind him of the fact that the Gardiner Elk Hunt was cancelled as a direct result of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation not lifting a finger to stop it. So it’s not about hunting because there is nothing to Hunt !
The courts are a blizzard of Law Suits being filed everyday by these Wolf Nut’s…..the only Wolf Law Suit against wolves has come out of Wyoming ..sound of a Cricket..Cricket……Cricket… I live in Wyoming .
Bob Fanning is ready to go to court tomorrow , if you would like to”Do Something !” contact us and we will be in Court as soon as they open the doors…….we’re not big on trinkets, we love dockets !

Hey Todd, you make a great point here and I too have had my battles with RMEF (RMNEF), I have spoke with the president of RMEF and thrugh many conversations (email) he did convince me that they were getting involved, I think it was just BS. I dont see them doing what needs to be done, I think they are afraid to loose all the donations from the fat cats on the premise that they are preserving wildlife more then promoting hunting. That being said I would like you to concider this, as a eastener I see things in a different light then you do and I cant help but wonder if our future members of SWW will be the present members of RMEF and to make them look foolish for being members of RMEF may not be the best way to recruit them. I could be all wrong her Todd but here in the east the only people that give a damn about the elk in the west are RMEF members, they go home every night and see the prints on their walls and trinkets they bought at banquets and to make them feel stupid about doing so instead of seeing SWW as the fighting arm of RMEF- that they need to become a part of might not be the best way to bring them into the SWW family. I have the ut-most respect for you and Scott Rockholm and the work you are doing and I may be out of line here but it is just an idea I would like you to concider. The spine-less pompass fools at RMEF deserve to be torn down but we could use their members on our side. Thanks for fighting for the future of the wildlife that belongs in the western woods, you are a true defender of wildlife!

Even though it may seem like we are beating up RMEF, we are only proving the point, they are sitting on their hind ends. Todd literally pointed out exactly what is happening, and who is perpetuating the horrific slaughter of our elk, moose, and deer.RMEF was a great organization, and I can honestly say I am less than satisfied with their action. I will not allow this to turn into a chest bumping contest, nor will I promote an organization that isn’t doing a damned thing to protect our wildlife.
We will stand behind RMEF, as soon as they stand up! The members have an incredible power in making this happen. If their membership pushes hard enough, the ball will begin to roll.

i’m no longer a member of rmef… the dumbasses bought in to the wolf bs years ago… they regret it now… …maybe… but when my dad told me he’s not renewing me for Christmas this year… i told him that’s the best Christmas present he could give me…
