Understanding wolf politics

Sportsman of today have bought the line that wolves are needed for a healthy
deer and elk herd. But what is the truth about the wolves. A old man once
told me track the money and you will find the answer to your question. Where
is the money on the wolf issue and who is benefiting?

Defenders of Wildlife (DOW) is an interesting group. Let me tell you a story
about Jamie Clark former Director of the US Fish and Wildlife services
(USFWS). The wolves were brought in under Ms. Clark watch. Ms. Clark formed
a partnership with DOW to pay livestock loses from wolf attacks. I didn’t
know that was legal for a Government agencies to become a partner with a Non
Governmental Organization (NGO) to make payment to a third party? Sound a
little fishy to me. One of the USFWS main job is to support hunting and
fishing. Why would they bring in a super predator that was going to cause
hunters to quit. In Michigan over 330,000 deer hunters have stop hunting
because of lack of deer. In my film I show from the Michigan DNR check in
reports, the radical drop in deer harvest by hunters where wolves are……

The wolf was drop into Yellowstone and Idaho in 1995. In 2000 Ms. Clark left
her Government job. You would think as the head of USFWS Ms. Clark would
find a job after leaving the USFWS with maybe Outdoor Life, Safari Club
something that would benefit hunters right? Guess where Jamie Clark is
working today? Big surprise DOW. I am not saying there was a Quid Pro Quo
for sure but it sure looks mighty fishy and most certainly stinks to high
heaven. But it appears Jamie Clark did quite well off the wolf
reintroduction. She is now one of the Vice Presidents of DOW. Let us click
over and check out what DOW is collecting a year. Wonder what the price was
for selling out the American sportsman?

http://www.defenders.org/resources/publications/annual_reports/2007_annual_report.pdf

Over 35 million dollars and notice all the hype and nonsense about the
wolves. Why do you think that is? Maybe the wolf has turn into one of the
best cash generators for DOW in their history. Don’t know just a guess. But
if wolves help your organization collect millions would you want any
negative press put out about your cash cow? The old man words echoing in my
mind follow the money.

In making my film Undue Burden the real cost of living with wolves. I
interview the people on the ground that are forced to live with the wolves
every single day. DOW had this to say Our pioneering work with local
residents in these areas has helped reduce conflicts and ease the wolves’
return. But yet in my film you will hear Preston Bates story of no
compensation for livestock lost and forced out of business. His family lost
the ranch and their livelihood. I guess helping to reduce conflict means
force people out of business then there is no conflict. Children have been
terrorize as bold wolves come right into their yards and kill their beloved
pets right in front of them. Some children have even been chased into their
house with wolves hot on their trail. These children are developing
Physiological problems and waking up in the middle of night screaming about
wolves in the house. Is this a deep instinct coming out in the children?

The experts tell us wolves are safe around people they never attack, what is
the problem? Yes in deed, what is the problem with wolves chasing children
into their houses? As a person that does not believe today experts I did my
own research and came up with a list of 104 people killed in North America.
I will share a few with you. The first is the name of the newspaper and the
second is the date it was published.
Indiana Democrat, The 11-24-1887 2 children killed

Two children, while returning home from school near High Prairie, Minn,,
last Friday, were attacked by wolves and before assistance could reach them
they were devoured, The wolves attacked two men in the same vicinity and it
was only after a long fight were they able to escaped.

Warren Ledger 5-22-1885

Shocking tale from Finland- as of late the bloodthirsty wolves have started
to attack children. So far in less then 2 months 11 children have been
carried off ripped to shreds and eaten by vicious cruel wolves.

Janesville Gazette, The 11-19-1891 3 documented wolf killed children

Minnesota 3 children killed and ate by wolves. These are the large vicious
gray wolves from Northern Minnesota. The pack was saw fighting over the
remains of the 3 children. The children had wandered into the woods to play.
No one knows the finally terror these poor children felt as the savage beast
ripped the life out of them. Men taking a shortcut found the wolves and left
to get help. Upon returning with a number of armed men the beast would not
leave until 2 were shot. Once drove off the grizzly scene of the 3 partial
eaten children were found.

DOW uses old newspaper achieves to inform their members how man wiped out
the wolves quoting from the early newspaper accounts. But when someone like
myself finds old newspaper account of wolves killing people that can’t be
trusted? I believe the term for that is called double standard. People read
this and say “so what ” that happen years ago and everything is safe today,
right?

The truth will set you free. Read this account of a lone wolf attacking 6
people in 2006.

http://www.propertyrightsresearch.org/2006/articles09/six_injured_in_rare_wolf_attack.htm

September 7, 2006

Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada – A lone wolf that attacked six people,
including several young children, in a provincial park over the long weekend
has tested negative for rabies, the Algoma Health Unit said yesterday.

The wolf, which has been blamed for several separate attacks Monday at the
popular Katherine’s Cove beach on Lake Superior was shot by park staff.

Wow, guess the experts forgot to tell you the truth. Don’t want people to
find out. Keep the myths, fairy tales and misconceptions flowing so the cash
cows keeps getting fatter. I wonder how the mothers felt after rushing their
screaming in pain, bleeding, crying, children to the hospital. The worries
of rabies. The wolf was killed and tested. Guess what? The wolf was healthy.
What does this mean? Does it mean that wolves are dangerous predators? I
bet those 4 children will never believe the fairy tale that wolves are safe
around people again.

In my film you will also see that wolves are so bad in New Mexico that
wolf proof bus stop shelters are being constructed for the health and safety
of the children. . Here is an update.

http://wolfcrossing.org/2008/03/18/3-wolf-proof-bus-stop-shelters-go-up-in-new-mexico-community/

Is DOW helping to build the shelters to protect school children from wolves?
Nope! Is the USFWS helping to protect the children? NO!

Looks like DOW and USFWS are too busy with fancy events to waste time
worrying about the health and safety of American children being terrorize by
wolves.

20th Annual North American Wolf Conference USFWS IN partnership with
Defenders of Wildlife

Chico Hot Springs, Pray Montana

Educational Presentation

Alpha Award Banquet

(Cocktail Hour sponsored by NRDC) NRDC is another anti hunting NGO

Alpha Award presented by Wolf Recovery Foundation

Northern Rockies

Now you have to ask yourself a couple of question how is it legal for US
Federal agency paid for with sportsman dollars in partnership with a animal
right organization? The old man words echoing in my mind follow the money
and you will find the answer to your question. Appears to me that USFWS has
sold out the American sportsman for high paying DOW jobs once they retired
from their government job. I am just hunter that thinks it is a good idea
to preserves deer and elk for the children of the future. Preserve the great
tradition of hunting. It appears our tax dollar paid USFWS is not taking
care of the American sportsman when they are working hand in hand with a
known Animal rights organization.

Interviewing Jim Beers Retired USFWS he told me about attending the Animal
Rights conference in Washington DC this is a on going annual event. One
interesting point was a list of things for their supporters to do. Always
stick up for predators, push for non lethal methods on all human conflicts
with animals i.e. ban hunting, become members of hunting forums and start
conflicts among the sportsman. Start arguments about ATV, high fence
hunting, scopes on muzzleloaders, stick up for predators, defend the wolf,
etc. Sure is interesting anytime someone post about wolves all the people
that quote from Animal rights web site isn’t it? How fast and long some of
these people will argue in support of the wolf. Make you wonder how much
they are being paid!

Follow the money who is making millions who is getting high paying DOW jobs
after their Government jobs. Millions tends to interfere with truth. You
might say blinding light of dollar signs. Ignored the little people that
are being forced out of business, losing the family ranch that may have been
in he family for generations, ignored the children and adults terrorize by
the wolves, ignore the falling big game numbers, keep the Golden wolf myth
going so the millions keep pouring in. The old man was right follow the
money.

Good job doing the research, I no longer want my family to go out to our favorite campgrounds and prospect for precious metals and gemstones due to the pack of wolves which frequent the area that are not afraid of mankind and have been seen on the porch of a nearby home in the territory they call “theirs”. city dwellers just dont realize that the pretty pictures that are painted by the DOW are not the only side to the story, A friend of mine lost his hunting dogs a few years back in a different area, while they were on a leash in his hand….. because of the restrictions placed on hunters who train dogs by the Idaho fish and game he was not packing a firearm and was not able to defend his stock from the pack which devoured the domestic dogs, a couple which were known as “fighters” of both cat and bear.

Keep up the pressure my friend.

  2. Great Read, nice job putting it together. I live with these wolves everyday, and after shooting a wolf last fall I also live with the death threats and organized harassment from the ant-hunting crowd….the truth is their only fear and enemy…

Bruce you put together a great film on a truely shitty subject, the people you interviewed on film, just left me in awe as they are so beaten down from the embattlement that is the wolf that has been destroying their way of life. They are truely people of real grit to still trudge on against the beast that they can do nothing against legally yet is taking everything away from them a bite at a time. I respect them even more after visualising their plight, they and all ranchers, farmers and just citizens of rural areas need to be given the power to protect their own property from destruction by somebody else’s pet who needs more than a leash put around it’s throat! Piano wire would be my first choice~
We need to use films and videos like yours to bring the plight of these Americans to the urbanites who don’t give a crap about much beyond the confines of the urban sprawl that they call home. But at the rate this plague is spreading, it will find itself in a park or greenway near them very soon and then they will squel to have someone protect them after they realize wolves have teeth like that for a friggin REASON!

Bruce, just want to say , I’m proud to know you, and hope we can work alongside each other
for a long time. You will like my husband – he’s very quiet, but hilariously funny. He is a retired
Texas game warden of 23 years. He quit early in 1992, because of the bureacracy that had nothing to do with protection of animals. This is a great page, I’ve been meaning to tell you for a while now.

how about everyone gets their heads out of their asses. first off, wolves are a keystone species and required for the environment. in the ten or so years they were virtually eradicated from the wild, deer and elk populations went crazy, leading to new diseases and disfigurements led on by excessive inbreeding. the “hunters” and “sportsman” couldn’t keep up with the rise in population. that 104 people killed by wolves in the US is a ESTIMATE spanning the past almost ten years. the ammount of people killed by their car striking a dear in the past ten years is in the thousands. people killed in the US by DOMESTIC DOGS!!!! in the past ten years is over three hundred.

so you want to complain about wolves, and what a danger they are to the public… well… so far this year we have had 27 people and 70+ livestock attacked by COYOTES!!! wolves make up such a miniscule ammount of casualties each year, how dare you put an animal that was here before us though the nightmare grinder. yes, they are hunters, but they have a right to be here just as much as we do.

and where were the parents to these attacked children? there are more dangers to a child alone than wildlife.

and before anyone comments about “living with wolves”… i do live with wolves. litterally. so far this year i havn’t lost any of my livestock to the coyotes because i have four.

thank you for your time and understand that its not just the people on the earth we have to be concerned with safety for. without predators, the earth makes this nice little downward spirol into infertility. how would that be for your children? because if the wolves are going to be hunted due to the potential of danger, i vote that domestic dogs over 20 lbs, automobiles, guns, and alchahol be eradicated as well, they are the more dangerous things. kill more people, individually EACH YEAR,

oh, and since wolves are not good enough to populate the earth, i suggest that all human men and women when they hit puberty be evaluated for their worthiness of re populating and adding their genetics to the gene pool, and if they fail, their are steralized, neutered, spayed, etc. cause you want to know the creature causeing the most damage to man kind? man kind… and what is the single most overpopulated animal on the planet? people…

we’ve almost wiped out wolves once, and the ecological structure of north america took a dive until they were re-introduced.

maybe you should do more research.
